Foragers is a survival crafting game where players must navigate a picturesque island landscape. It was designed as a vertical slice of a game concept.

It was the first big group project that I worked on during my time at University and was a formative and exceptionally positive experience. Working on this project was one of the main highlights of my time spent at University.

My role on the project was officially as a programmer, though I am more of a game design generalist that gets involved in almost all aspects of production.

I created many bespoke systems for the game including an inventory system, crafting system, a building system, a turn based battle system, a fishing mini game and much more.

Additionally, I implimented all of the character movement mechanics and animations, was heavily involved in the level design, set up and orchestrated the use of multi user editing in Unreal Engine (facilitating and supporting artists and designers getting hands on in engine).

The main highlight of this project was the long lasting bonds I formed with team mates during the process. The dynamic of the group was exceptional throughout.
